APPLE PIE

This apple pie is made with a 9-inch pie crust, a sweet-tart apple pie filling, and a delicious buttery streusel.

Ingredients Needed

Roll out store-bought or homemade pie dough into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to a deep 9-inch pie plate. Flute the edges and chill the pie crust.

For the apple pie filling, mix together the apples, lemon juice, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt together until the apples are evenly coated with the sugar and spices.

For the streusel, combine the brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg together. Add in the cold butter and use your fingers to mix the mixture together, until crumbs form.

Spoon the apple mixture into the pie crust, leaving any excess liquid in the mixing bowl.

Dollop the streusel evenly over the apple pie filling.

Bake until the apples are tender and the topping is browned. Cool fully before slicing and storing.
