This cheesy hash brown casserole is topped with crunchy cornflakes, creating a delicious, creamy side dish!

what you need:

For the Cheesy Hash Brown Casserole: • UNSALTED BUTTER • yellow onion • all-purpose flour • low-sodium chicken stock or   vegetable broth • milk • seasoned salt • ground black pepper • sharp cheddar cheese • sour cream • hash browns For the Topping: • cornflakes • unsalted butter

Cook the minced onion in melted butter. Whisk in the flour and cook, stirring constantly.

Whisk in the chicken stock, followed by the milk. Then, season with salt and pepper. Simmer until thickened and remove from heat. Stir in the cheese and sour cream.

Add the thawed hash browns and fold. Then, transfer the mixture to a prepared casserole.

Crush the cornflakes in a storage bag and toss them in butter. Sprinkle the topping over the casserole. Then, bake and let sit before serving.
