these Buttermilk Biscuits have a perfect crumb and are light, tender, and full of flavor.
Combine the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder. Add the butter to the flour mixture and pulse several times until the butter is the size of peas.
Add the buttermilk to the flour mixture and pulse until just combied, being careful to not overmix.
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently fold the dough together and then pat into a 1-inch circle.
Using a circle cookie cutter, cut out 6 biscuits from dough.
Brush each biscuit with additional buttermilk.
Bake biscuits until golden.
Serve with butter and jam as desired.
