The Best  Banana Pudding

Ingredients Needed

This recipe is made with from-scratch vanilla custard, fresh whipped cream, bananas, and vanilla wafters. The taste is pure and delicious.

Simmer  sugar, cornstarch, a pinch of salt, egg yolks, and milk together over medium heat until just warmed and thickened, whisking frequently. Stir in vanilla and then pour custard over strainer and chill.

Whip fresh heavy cream  until soft,  yet firm peaks form.

Gently fold the cream into the chilled custard, being careful to not deflate the whipped cream.

Slice the bananas into a bowl with a tiny bit of lemon juice and gently toss to coat.

In a trifle, layer in a third of the pudding mixture. Top with half the vanilla wafers, then half the sliced bananas. Repeat the layers, ending with a final layer of the pudding.

Alternatively, you can layer the ingredients in small glass serving dishes for serving.

We love banana pudding but man there is nothing better than a homemade pudding! It was so flavorful and so creamy!
