FRENCH TOAST

perfect

*Bread: Use thickly sliced  day-old bread--any variety you like.  *Egg Custard: Eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and maple syrup. *Butter for pan-frying

Ingredients Needed

In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla, and a dash of salt together until well combined.

1

Melt 2 teaspoons of butter in a non-stick skillet.

2

Dip the bread into the egg custard on each side. Place French Toast in a skillet and pan fry until browned, about 3 minutes.

3

Flip and cook for 2-3 minutes on the opposite side. Remove from skillet and place browned French Toast on a baking sheet.

4

Place pan-fried French Toast in a 300 degree oven and bake for 10 minutes to finish cooking.

5

Remove from the oven and serve with maple syrup, butter, and fresh berries.

This recipe is a winner! Finishing this in the oven reduced the sogginess. It retained the crunchiness and didn’t dry it out. My family loved it.
