This recipe for Sloppy Joes is made with lean ground meat, fresh onions, peppers, jalapeno, and a sweet and tangy sauce made with tomato sauce, honey, and vinegar.
Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, peppers, onions, and jalapenos saute, breaking up the meat as it cooks.
Once the meat has browned and onions have softened, drain off any excess grease and return the skillet to the heat.
Add in tomato sauce, tomato paste, garlic, honey salt, and stir well. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to a simmer. Finish with vinegar and Worcestershire sauce.
Serve the sloppy joe mixture on top of buns with cheese as desired.
Followed the instructions exactly except substituted turkey meat, came out amazing! This one is a keeper, my entire family gobbled it up. I actually had none left over despite trying to make extra, thank you so much!
