WHOLE WHEAT BREAD

*whole wheat flour *vital wheat gluten *salt *water

*oil *honey *yeast

INGREDIENTS NEEDED

Sprinkle the yeast over the warm water and give a gentle stir. Let it sit for 5 minutes, or until foamy.

Mix together the flour, salt, and vital wheat gluten. Add the oil and honey to the yeast mixture and then add to the flour mixture and mix to combine.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead until a ball forms. Place in oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Once the dough has risen, punch down and shape into loaf. Place into loaf pan, cover and let rise for another hour, or until doubled in size.

Bake until bread has reached an internal temperature of 190 degrees F.

After 10 minutes, remove from loaf pan, and cool completely.

I've made this bread several times over the past couple of weeks and it's now my only go-to whole wheat bread recipe! This bread is wonderfully soft with a great wheat flavor and even with that amount of honey it's not too sweet. Perfect for sandwiches of all kinds! --reader review
