Seasoned with a sweet and smokey dry rub and basted in tangy BBQ Sauce, this recipe for Grilled BBQ Chicken produces juicy, flavorful barbecue chicken with ease.
6boneless, skinless chicken breaststrimmed of any fat
½cupprepared BBQ sauceplus additional for serving.
Instructions
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Lightly brush the grill with oil.
In a small mixing bowl combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper together.
Rub the spice mixture evenly over each side of the chicken breast.
Place the seasoned chicken on the preheated grill. Cover and cook for 5 minutes without disturbing. Flip the chicken and cook for an additional 4 minutes. Brush the chicken breasts with BBQ sauce, flip and cook for 2 minutes. Brush the chicken breasts again with BBQ sauce and flip. Cook until for an additional 2 minutes or until the chicken reaches 160°F and opaque all the way through
Transfer the chicken to a clean plate and tent with foil. Allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes for the juices to redistribute and the temperature of the chicken to rise to 165°F.
Garnish with parsley and additional BBQ sauce on the side if desired.

Cook the chicken until the internal temperature is 160 degrees F. Allow to sit for 5-10 minutes before eating or cutting into. This will allow the internal heat to rise to 165 degrees F and keep the chicken juicy.Chicken: Feel free to use boneless, skinless chicken thighs for this recipe. Cook until the thighs reach 160 degrees F, just as you do for chicken breasts. Leftovers: Leftover BBQ Chicken can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Baking the BBQ Chicken: Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Rub each chicken breast with the dry rub and place it into an oven-safe baking dish. Baked for 15 minutes and then remove the chicken from the oven. Brush the top of the chicken with the BBQ sauce and then return the chicken to the oven. Cook for 6-10 minutes longer, or until the internal temperature of the chicken is 160 degrees F. Allow the chicken to rest 5-10 minutes before serving.
