FRENCH TOAST

bananas foster

*bread *eggs *cream *vanilla *cinnamon

Ingredients Needed

*butter *brown sugar *bananas *rum (optional)

Whisk together eggs, cream, cinnamon, vanilla, and a dash of salt together until well combined.

Dip thick slices of bread into the custard and let soak for 5-1o seconds and then pan-fry in butter for 2-3 minutes until golden. Remove and finish cooking in oven.

Melt butter in the same skillet used to cook french toast. Whisk in brown sugar and let come to bubble and sugar melt.

Add sliced bananas to the buter and brown for 1 minute on each side. Remove the bananas from the pan.

Remove skillet from heat and add in rum if using. Carefully return skillet back to heat. Alcohol may ignite. Cook for 1-2 minues until flames die out.

Serve the french toast with the caramelized bananas and browned butter sauce.

Doubled the recipe for a family of 10 on vacation and it was a huge hit. Didn’t have rum, but bourbon made a great substitute!
