Forget ever having to buy coffee creamer again! This 3-Ingredient Coconut Vanilla Coffee Creamer comes together in minutes to create a rich, luxurious, dairy-free coffee creamer.
Whether you use this Homemade Coffee Creamer to make a Homemade Latte, or just to flavor your coffee, this simple dairy-free coffee creamer will save you money and will make drinking your morning cup of coffee that much more enjoyable.

Like many of you, my morning does not go well without a cup of coffee. While I don't like my coffee black, I am not a fan of store-bought creamers for many reasons. They are often loaded with added preservatives, sugar, stabilizers, carrageenan, and even trans fat.
And if you need a dairy-free creamer, your options are limited and they are often pricey!
Skip the store-bought creamer, and with just 3 ingredients and a quick shake, you can quickly make a dairy-free creamer that is rich, velvety, and full of vanilla and coconut flavors with a note of maple in the background. It is the perfect way to indulge without indulging at all.
Notes on Ingredients
Because this homemade coffee creamer is made with only 3 ingredients, you want to choose them wisely for the best results.
- Coconut Milk: Be sure to use canned coconut milk, not coconut cream for this vegan coffee creamer. My favorite is Trader Joe's Coconut Milk, it is thicker than most light brands but does not separate as much as full-fat coconut milk. However, you can use any brand of light coconut milk or full-fat coconut milk you like.
- Maple Syrup: Be sure to use pure maple syrup, not pancake syrup, as the flavor will not be as rich or pure.
- Vanilla Extract: The vanilla extract is optional, but adds a nice warming note to the creamer.
- Optional Additions: Feel free to add up to a teaspoon of ground cinnamon or ½ teaspoon of grated nutmeg for additional flavoring if desired.
How To Prepare & Use Homemade Coffee Creamer

Can I use a blender to mix everything?
Yes absolutely
I made this recipe, slightly modified. Instead of shaking in a jar, I actually mixed it in a bowl with an electric mixer. I used the recommended amount of maple syrup but cut the vanilla in half. After mixing for several minutes to make it smooth and remove all fatty clumps, I found it too thick, so I diluted it with 3/4 can of hemp milk (I’m sure your non-dairy milk beverage of choice will also work). The end result was very good. A tasty creamy creamer with excellent mouth feel and held up great in tea. I’ll be making it again.
Thank you for letting us all know how your modifications worked Anya.
Can't wait to try this. How long does it keep in the fridge?
Hi Kim, it will last 7-10 days. I hope you enjoy
Hi Kim! It will keep for 7-10 days! I hope you enjoy!
Doesn't taste as rich and sweet as I would like, but I may continue to tweak it with monkfruit or stevia and ghee to see if I can get the right 'creamy' combination.
Hi Elizabeth. If you are used to really sweet items, feel free to add stevia 🙂 Also be sure to use full fat coconut milk to keep it super creamy. Hope that helps.
Hi, can you use coconut cream instead of coconut milk?
Hi Megan, yes, coconut cream works--just be sure to mix really well before adding the coffee.
Finally, something I can do with the extra 1/2 can of coconut milk I always seem to end up with and then forget to use.
YAY! It is a great use for coconut milk. You may also enjoy homemade pina coladas as well.
I have fresh vanilla beans on hand. Would that work as well? Is one emptied vanilla bean enough for one can of coconut milk?
Hi Janine! Vanilla beans are really flavorful, so I would only use 1/4 of one vanilla bean--but it will work great.
