Air Fryer Corn on the Cob is an easy, delicious way to turn corn on the cob into something memorable. The corn remains juicy and becomes tender while achieving a deliciously golden, crispy exterior.

Tender, juicy, golden, and a little bit charred, this easy recipe for Air Fryer Corn on the Cob turns humble corn on the cob into something memorable.

3 ears of air fryer con on a black plate topped with a pat of butter.

Corn on the cob is a summer staple. From Instant Pot Corn on the Cob to Grilled Corn on the Cob to Air Fryer Corn on the Cob, I love it any way I can get it!

When I am craving the flavor of roasted corn, I opt to use the Air Fryer. Without having to turn on the oven and heat up the kitchen, or having to stand over a hot grill, I can achieve perfectly golden, crispy, charred corn that is still tender and juicy!

This recipe for Air Fryer Corn on the Cob comes together fast! And you can adjust the level of crispiness based on your preference, so you can enjoy your corn just the way you like it!

    What you Need

    • Corn: Obviously you need corn on the cob. You can use fresh yellow, white or bi-corn. In fact, you can even use defrosted frozen corn on the cob for this recipe.
    • Cooking Spray or Oil: To give the corn a really golden exterior, you want to either spray the corn with cooking spray or brush lightly with oil. I love using an avocado cooking spray when preparing corn on the cob. If using oil, use canola, avocado, olive, or even vegetable oil.
    • Seasonings: You can season the corn simply with salt, or jazz it up with one of my suggestions below.
    • Air Fryer: This recipe will work with any air fryer you have. I personally have a basic GoWise Air Fryer that has worked well for me. You can even prepare this using the air fryer lid for the instant pot.

How to Cook Corn on the Cob in the Air Fryer

    • If needed per your model, preheat the Air Fryer to 380 degrees F.
    • Remove the husk and silks on the corn and trim off any portion of the stalk that remains on the corn.
    • Rinse the corn to remove any dirt and then pat dry so that the corn can crisp up evenly in the air fryer.
    • Evenly spray the corn cobs with cooking spray or brush lightly with oil.
    • Place the corn in the basket or on the tray of the air fryer. Keep in mind you want to leave space between the ears of corn so that every kernel cooks evenly. If needed, work in batches to prepare the corn.
2 ears of corn in the basket of an air fryer.
    • Air Fry for 6 minutes, flip, and then air fry for another 6-10 minutes, based on how golden, or crispy you like your corn.
2 cooked ears of corn in basket of air fryer.
    • Serve warm with or without butter and a sprinkling of salt. I personally find the corn to be so delicious, no butter is needed.
3 ears of air fried corn on a black plate.

    Flavor Options

    • Butter and Salt: Stick to the classic and season with butter and salt.
    • Fresh Herbs: Brush the corn on the cob with yogurt, butter, or mayonnaise and sprinkle with chopped parsley, chopped chives, or chopped fresh dill.
    • Cilantro Lime Corn: Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and add the juice and zest of one fresh lime to the butter. Brush the butter with the seasoned butter and then sprinkle with minced cilantro and queso fresco.
    • Mexican Street Corn: Spread mayonnaise on corn, sprinkle with chili powder, and a drizzle of Mexican crema.
    • Parmesan: Spread the corn with butter or brush with extra virgin olive oil and grate fresh Parmesan cheese over the corn.
    • Spicy: Rub the corn with butter and then sprinkle with Cajun Seasoning or smoked paprika and a drizzle of Sriracha.

    Recipe FAQs

Can I air fry at a higher temperature to speed up the cooking time?

I have tried air frying corn at 400 degrees F, and while faster, I find that the corn loses a bit of its juiciness. I have found 380 degrees F to be the perfect temperature for cooking the corn to golden perfection without drying out the corn itself.

How many ears of corn can you fit in the air fryer?

This will depend upon the size of your air fryer and the size of the ears of corn. Some models will easily fit 4 full ears of corn, others will only fit two. Therefore, you may need to work in batches, so you don't overcrowd your air fryer. If you need to prepare the corn in batches, you can keep the air-fried corn on the cob warm in a 200-degree F oven, while you work to prepare the next batch of corn.

What if the ears of corn do not fit in the basket or tray of the air fryer?

First of all, be sure to remove the stalk of the corn. And if needed, you can break the corn on the cob in half or in thirds to better fit inside the air fryer. No change in cooking time is needed.

    Ingredients

    • 2-6 ears of corn
    • Cooking spray or oil
    • Salt and butter for serving if desired
Prevents your screen from going dark while preparing the recipe.

    Instructions

    • If needed per your model of air fryer, preheat the Air Fryer to 380 degrees F.
    • Remove husk, silks, and stems from each ear of corn. Wash and pat dry.
    • If needed, cut or break the corn in halves or thirds to fit in your air fryer.
    • Evenly spray the corn cobs with cooking spray or brush lightly with oil.
    • Place the ears of corn into the air fryer basket or on the tray of the air fryer, leaving space for the air to circulate between each ear or corn. Air Fry at 380 degrees F for 6 minutes, flip, and then air fry for another 6-10 minutes, based on how golden, or crispy you like your corn.
    • Serve warm with salt, butter, or any seasonings of your choice.

    Equipment Needed

    • Air Fryer

    Notes

Oil: I prefer using Avocado Oil Spray, but your favorite cooking spray works well. Alternatively, you can brush the corn with canola oil, avocado oil, or olive oil. Do not use butter, as it could quickly burn.
Frozen Corn on the Cob: Allow the corn to fully defrost, pat dry, and then air fry as directed per recipe.
Don’t overcrowd the air fryer. You want to be sure there is space between each ear of corn so that the air can evenly circulate. If you need to prepare the corn in batches, you can keep the air-fried corn on the cob warm in a 200-degree F oven, while you work to prepare the next batch of corn.
Leftovers: Leftover corn on the cob can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in an airtight container. You can reheat in the air fryer for 3-5 minutes at 380 degrees.
Nutrition is based on using avocado cooking spray and 1 ear of corn.
