Whether you have a child obsessed with butterflies or you're looking for a cute snack for a tea party, these Butterfly Snack Bags are such a fun way to dress up a school lunch or after-school snack! Using a sandwich bag, a pipe cleaner, a cheese stick, and your kid's favorite snacks, these adorable treats take just 5 minutes to make!

Butterfly Snack Bags at a Glance

I love to make food fun and festive for my kids. But I refuse to make it complicated. These butterfly snack bags show how an extra minute or two can make snack time feel extra special without adding stress to our already jam-packed days.
- No craft skills needed. Fun does not mean time-consuming. These snack bags use everyday ingredients and supplies you have on hand and take just an extra minute or two longer than assembling a sandwich.
- Make it your way. Customize the "wings" to suit your child's dietary needs or likes.
- Perfect for lunch or snack time. These snack bags are an easy snack idea for kids and a suitable (and fun) kid-friendly lunch for younger children when made with crackers and fruit.
- Party perfect! Butterfly snack bags make an adorable, easy, affordable option for parties. I served them at my daughter's 4th birthday party, and her friends loved them!
- Prep-ahead for lunch. You can make these snack bags on the weekend and store them in the refrigerator to make packing lunches or grabbing a snack during the week easy-peasy!
Happy Cooking! xo Kristen

How to Make Cheese Stick Butterfly Snacks
- Start with a sandwich bag and a pipe cleaner.
- Divide your bag in half by using the pipe cleaner.
- Fill one side of your sandwich bag with grapes or another sturdy fruit your child likes.
- Fill the other side of the sandwich bag with Peanut Butter Snack Crackers.
- Draw a smiley face on a cheese stick and, with a piece of double-sided tape, adhere the body of your "butterfly" onto the bag.
Simple, easy, and SO FUN! It is worth the 5 extra minutes spent on making lunch to smile at your kids!

Ideas for Snack Bag Filling
- Fruit: Use any fruit your child likes, like strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, grapes, raisins, dried fruit, apple slices that have been soaked in pineapple juice to prevent browning, or orange segments.
- Crackers: Look for whole-grain cheese or peanut butter sandwich crackers for a more filling option. Or use whole-grain plain crackers, rice crackers, or cheese crackers.
- Other Options: Pretzels, trail mixes, nuts, and popcorn are also great options for filling the wings on a Butterfly Snack Bag.
- Gluten-Free: Use your favorite gluten-free crackers, or substitute nuts or additional fruit to keep this snack bag gluten-free.
