With a crispy crust, melty cheese, and your favorite pizza toppings, this easy Air Fryer French Bread Pizza puts store-bought frozen French bread pizza to shame!
Similar to my Pizza Grilled Cheese, Pita Pizzas, and English Muffin Pizzas, these Air Fryer French Bread Pizzas come together in 15 minutes or less. It's one of those easy wins I rely on for nights when I'm simply too tired to cook.

Kristen's Keys for Air Fryer French Bread Pizza
While an easy and adaptable recipe, I have two tips that will help to ensure the best results.
- Toast the bread first. Brushing the French bread with seasoned olive oil and quickly toasting before adding the sauce and toppings prevents soggy bread and adds flavor. This step matters more than you think.
- Add toppings or opt for sliced cheese. Shredded cheese can blow around in some air fryer models, which leads to uneven melting (and a mess). Sliced cheese stays put, or you can anchor shredded cheese with toppings like pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, or sausage.
How to Make French Bread Pizza in the Air Fryer
Air Fryer French Bread Pizzas are designed for busy weeknights, quick lunches, late night snacks, or even college dorm rooms. Simple ingredients, minimal prep, maximum flavor. Let me walk you through the process, with a few tips along the way.
Step One: Prepare Bread
While this recipe is called French bread pizza, you can easily swap the French bread out for a small loaf of Italian bread or small baguette. The trick is slicing it open lengthwise and then cutting the halves into 2-6 pieces, or individual pizzas, that will fit inside the air fryer.
Once the bread is sliced, brush the cut-side of the bread with olive oil that has been seasoned with garlic powder and oregano. Bread dipping oil works insanely well here too.

Step Two: Toast Bread
Place the bread cut-side up in the air fryer and cook at 375°F for 3 minutes to lightly toast. Keep in mind that depending on the size of your air fryer and how many pizzas you are making, you may need to work in batches to not overcrowd the air fryer.

Step Three: Add Toppings
Spread each piece of toasted bread with a thin layer of pizza sauce (or sauce of choice), top with cheese, and then any toppings you like.

Step Four: Air Fry Pizzas
Return the French Bread Pizzas to the air fryer and cook until the cheese is nice and melted.

Flavor Variations
The options for toppings and flavor variations are endless. Use your favorite toppings or get inspiration from a few of my favorites below.
- Pesto & Tomato: Replace the pizza sauce with pesto sauce and then top with sliced tomatoes and thinly sliced fresh mozzarella cheese.
- BBQ Chicken: Spread a thin layer of store-bought or homemade barbecue sauce, followed by leftover rotisserie chicken, and Monterey jack cheese. Air-fry as directed.
- Breakfast French Bread Pizza: Replace the seasoned olive oil with softened butter. Air-fry to toast as directed and then top with scrambled eggs, cooked breakfast sausage, and sliced cheddar cheese. Return to the air fryer and cook as directed.

How do you stop the lighter pepperoni from flying around your air-fryer please?
Hi John! Try laying sliced cheese over the pepperoni if your model blows it around too too much.
