Forget ever having to buy coffee creamer again! This 3-Ingredient Coconut Vanilla Coffee Creamer comes together in minutes to create a rich, luxurious, dairy-free coffee creamer.
Whether you use this Homemade Coffee Creamer to make a Homemade Latte, or just to flavor your coffee, this simple dairy-free coffee creamer will save you money and will make drinking your morning cup of coffee that much more enjoyable.

Like many of you, my morning does not go well without a cup of coffee. While I don't like my coffee black, I am not a fan of store-bought creamers for many reasons. They are often loaded with added preservatives, sugar, stabilizers, carrageenan, and even trans fat.
And if you need a dairy-free creamer, your options are limited and they are often pricey!
Skip the store-bought creamer, and with just 3 ingredients and a quick shake, you can quickly make a dairy-free creamer that is rich, velvety, and full of vanilla and coconut flavors with a note of maple in the background. It is the perfect way to indulge without indulging at all.
Notes on Ingredients
Because this homemade coffee creamer is made with only 3 ingredients, you want to choose them wisely for the best results.
- Coconut Milk: Be sure to use canned coconut milk, not coconut cream for this vegan coffee creamer. My favorite is Trader Joe's Coconut Milk, it is thicker than most light brands but does not separate as much as full-fat coconut milk. However, you can use any brand of light coconut milk or full-fat coconut milk you like.
- Maple Syrup: Be sure to use pure maple syrup, not pancake syrup, as the flavor will not be as rich or pure.
- Vanilla Extract: The vanilla extract is optional, but adds a nice warming note to the creamer.
- Optional Additions: Feel free to add up to a teaspoon of ground cinnamon or ½ teaspoon of grated nutmeg for additional flavoring if desired.
How To Prepare & Use Homemade Coffee Creamer
- Combine the coconut milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract in a jar with a tight-fitting lid or a blender. Shake or blend well until the ingredients are well emulsified.
- Store this homemade creamer in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 14 days.
- Shake well before each use.
not dairy-free?
If you are not dairy-free, feel free to use half and half in place of the coconut milk to make a simple Homemade Vanilla Coffee Creamer.

I love the flavor! How do you keep it from solidifying in the fridge? I’ve had to spoon mine out.
Hi Jolene! I am thrilled you enjoy the flavor. It may solidify due to the fat content of your coconut milk--be sure to use coconut milk not coconut cream or cream of coconut. However, try blending in a blender to remedy what you have on hand.
My coconut says to use within 4 days… do you think the maple syrup or vanilla makes it safe for 14 days?
Can I ask what brand of coconut milk you are using?
Good recipe, but I would stick to Thai Kitchen coconut milk. Trader Joe’s brand coagulates while blending with maple syrup and vanilla extract.
This was great! Thank you so much for sharing. I’ve been trying different options of the store bought creamer but this is 100% better in taste & much healthier.
Thank you I will try this. I have organic Thai canned coconut milk from Costco which comes out water/and fat completely separate. If I blend it will it stay separated? How does the Trader Joe's brand come out of the can? Is it organic? Thank you!
Hi Karen! Trader Joe's has an organic canned coconut milk. I shake it really well before opening and typically it is well emulsified. If needed, blend first and then proceed with the recipe.
Thank you!!
So delicious!! I will always makes this!
Wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing!
Can this be frozen?
Hi Sara! I don't recommend freezing this creamer as the coconut milk will separate and become an odd texture once defrosted.
How long does this keep?
Hi Lori! Coconut Vanilla Coffee Creamer can be stored in the refrigerator for 10-14 days.
Hi there. I just tried this and blended all ingredients. It separated into the liquid part and then chunks of white. I used full fat coconut milk and agave... could the agave do that?
It sounds like the natural solids are separating, I would simply blend again and it should be good to go.
You just need to warm it. I have tired blending coconut milk before as well. It doesn't work! It separates. Now I just pop the coconut milk in the micro for 40 secs and then mix the rest of the Ingredients.
I love this recipe. I use it as my creamer in my teecino flavored teas! It tastes like I'm drinking coffee and have such a good creamer that isn't full of chemicals! Thank you for sharing it! 5 stars!!
Wonderful!
