Tips for an Effortless Christmas Brunch

When it comes to a holiday brunch, it is best to choose recipes that can be assembled in advance and/or need minimal prep before serving. This is especially true on Christmas morning when you want to be able to soak up the magic of the season. Most of the recipes I have provided have make-ahead instructions (or you can check out my make-ahead holiday breakfast recipes). This will let you can get back to celebrating instead of cooking!

  • Choose one or two savory dishes paired with one or two sweeter dishes. Pair things like Hashbrown Breakfast Casserole or Sausage Balls with things like Overnight Cinnamon Rolls or Sour Cream Coffee Cake
  • Add fruit to round things out. Finish off your brunch with fresh fruit or a make it festive with a Christmas Fruit Salad.
  • Prep-Ahead. I prep everything the night before, including having the coffee ready to brew. I get up a few minutes before my family, remove any dish that needs to be baked from the refrigerator, and turn the oven on if needed. By the time everyone gathers around the tree, everything is baking and brunch is ready to enjoy after the gifts are unwrapped.
